Thurmon Field Renovation Celebration Ceremony
Under sunshine and blue skies, the new Thurmon Field was officially opened during a special ceremony. Over 400 people were on hand to witness the true spirit of community involvement. This concluded a very intense 2 month renovation project that delivered our amazing new field!
The event was opened by Larry Harper, Founder of The Good Tidings Foundation - who spoke on the challenges and impressions of the project. Larry was followed by Mayor Osbie Davis who represented the City of Vallejo. The field was blessed by NVLL Alumni Relations Coordinator Jason Berhel and the event was concluded with words from our very own CC Sabathia.
CC was joined by his wife Amber, and his mother Margie in the ceremonial ribbon cutting over home plate. The crowd yelled "Play Ball" and orange and black baloons were released. This was a tremendous day for not only our little league, but for the many generations of Vallejoans who have welcomed baseball back to the North!
